Launched in March 1999, the Yaris redefined the super-mini and quickly established the Japanese automaker as a car company capable of building small cars of high quality, reliability and safety.

The Toyota Yaris was initially introduced with a 1.0 litre 4cyl DOHC engine, but was quickly followed by a 1.3 version producing 85 bhp and low emissions. Now with a 1.5 petrol and an all new 1.4 Turbo Diesel engine, the Yaris has fast become an extremely popular car and has helped establish Toyota as one of the world's biggest car makers.
